To Pay Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

This posting honors the efforts of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.,
a man who sought to bring peace to the world through non-violence.
As I post this, his speeches pour out of the radio, and they
still send shivers down my spine.

There will be a new photograph of a CHALK4PEACE site
from around the world every day this week.

The first event for CHALK4PEACE as an organized event
was at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Library
in Washington, DC in 2005. 2008 will be the Library's fourth
year supporting CHALK4PEACE. The photo is from the Library's
event in 2006. The students are from Woodlawn Elementary School
in Alexandria, VA. It is both an honor and quite humbling.
More than one hundred thousand people have done CHALK4PEACE
since 2006. They've covered fourteen football fields' worth of art.
We will chalk it up for peace again on 19-21 September, 2008
and work to continue to spread the spirit of peace through
artistic expression, as Dr. King would want us to.

one more in the name of Love..."
